Hi! I am Melanie Melvin and I am so glad to be the Director of Children’s Ministries here at St. Mark. I have been in this position since July 1, 2005. I am loving every minute of it! I truly feel that this is exactly where God wants me to be and I am enjoying every one of the children at St. Mark. To tell you a little about myself, let me start by introducing you to my family. Chad and I have been married for 9 years and we are so blessed to have the 2 greatest kids in the world. Gracie is 5 and Grant is 18 months old. I am originally from Carthage, Missouri and Chad is from Hickory, North Carolina. We met when my parents moved to NC, where they still are,  along with Chad’s entire family.  I have a bachelor’s degree in Business and Leadership from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS. I have spent my professional life in the business and education world. Working with the church is so different!  We have been members of St. Mark for 5 years and love this church so much. The people worshipping within these walls are some of the best people on the planet. My prayers for the Children’s Ministry at St. Mark are three-fold. One, that the children will each know that they’re loved by a God who sent his son for them; that they receive Jesus as their savior from a young age. Two that the families of our church are encouraged and given support in creating Christian homes. And third, that we can reach out to the community to invite new families to join our family at St. Mark.

I am so excited every time one of the children has a light bulb moment or they see God work in their lives. Nothing thrills me more than to hear their praise. I know that the excitement in the Children’s area is contagious – I hope you catch it!
